Will It Fit? Room Dimensions and Clearance

Clearance is what separates a generous bed from a crowded room. For a 72" x 96", plan on 11' x 11' minimum: 30 inches to walk on either side, 30 at the foot, and six inches of headboard depth. That is approximately 121 square feet committed to the bed alone.

12' x 12' is where this size sits properly. Below that it will still fit, but fitting and belonging are different standards, and the gap between them is about six inches per side.

The Delivery Question

Bedding & Linens

Bedding is made to order at this size; there is no catalogue equivalent. Most clients commission two or three sets at the outset, which is more economical than ordering singly and means the bed is never out of service waiting on linen.

One point specific to this width: at 72 inches, a duvet that drapes correctly should measure roughly 104 to 116 inches across, allowing a proper fall on both sides over a mattress of Vispring depth. Headboards, Symmetry and Visual Weight
